JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Design Engineer – Security Systems
Reporting to: Design Team Leader
Main Function: To design and prepare quotes and specifications in line with British Standards and company policy
Principal Responsibilities:
· To carry out all aspects of design work security system, to include Intruder, CCTV, Access Control and Video Entry
· To design other systems within the company’s portfolio
· To liase with Clients and/or Consultants, both by telephone and face to face
· Liase with Sub-contractors
· Prepare quotes and specifications from information provided by Sales Consultants
· To review and approve the technical conformity of specifications produced by others
· Any other duties in line with the role
Knowledge and Requirements:
· Engineering background desirable
· Be capable of understanding and producing contractual documentation, design specifications and presentation packages
· An understanding of construction industry and tender related works, would be beneficial
· To be a team player whilst being capable of working on own initiative
· Excellent customer service skills
· Self motivated and able to meet deadlines
· Knowledge of relevant British Standards such as Data Protection Act, NACOSS and BSIA
· PC Literate – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project) and knowledge of company’s own Sales, Install and Intranet systems
