Train at station

Rail Security Overview

On the railways, ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and staff is imperative, particularly at times of disruption.  As such, Train Operating Companies (TOCs) are beginning to invest substantially in station improvements, on-train CCTV and passenger information systems, to enhance the quality of service and facilities to customers.

The installation of innovative safety systems integrated with passenger information systems at stations is a solution increasingly utilised. This results in the monitoring of activity at stations and can be combined with a two-way customer information/announcement system, designed to improve customer safety, reduce delays and provide information.

ADT have designed and successfully implemented a technology solution on various rail networks to meet these objectives. As Achilles Link-up approved, ADT are qualified and registered as a supplier to the UK Rail Industry, shared by Network Rail and over 100 rail organisations including Principal Contractors, Underground Infrastructure companies, Construction companies and Train and Freight operators.

National Programmes resulting from the Department for Transport’s safety and security focus such as National Station Improvement Programme (NSIP) and Station Information and Surveillance Systems (SISS) are perfectly matched by core solutions in the ADT portfolio.
