ADT complies with the principles laid down by the Data Protection Act and ensure the following is adhered to when dealing with employee data:
- fair and lawful processing
- for specified purpose
- adequate, relevant and not excessive
- accurate and valid
- retain for no longer than necessary
- in accordance with rights of data subjects
- measures against misuse, loss, destruction and damage
- transfer out of EEA only if adequate protection in place
In terms of recruitment and selection procedures ADT will only use applicants details for the specified purpose of matching skills with suitable positions within ADT.
ADT will retain applicants' details for upto 12 months to enable ADT to provide feedback to candidates on their application and interview performance and generally respond to queries from the applicant.
If candidates are unsuccessful during their application process, then during the period of retention ADT may use the applicant's details to consider against future vacancies. Should candidates not wish their information to be used in this way then they must contact the recruiting manager who will ensure their details are removed for this purpose.
ADT complies with The National Security Inspectorate (NSI), regulations which requires the Company to make detailed enquiries about prospective employees in order for recruitment and confirmation of employment purposes.
The company is also on the list of Compliant Intruder Alarm Installers, for which the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) have adapted an Intruder Alarm Policy. Disclosure of conviction forms are required to be completed by potential employees to comply with this policy. These forms are then checked by Police Forces for criminal convictions.
