How to respond following an alarm activation
You must respond quickly, as a keyholder nominated by the property owner you will only be called by our Alarm Receiving Centre if we receive an alarm signal.
The Alarm Receiving Centre will call and tell you if the alarm system has been activated and the emergency services have been called.
You should attend the property as soon as possible, remembering to take the keys to the property.
When you arrive at the property:
- DO NOT PUT YOURSELF AT RISK
- DO NOT ENTER THE PROPERTY UNTIL THE EMERGENCY SERVICES ADVISE YOU OR YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT IT IS SAFE TO DO SO
Before you leave the property you will need to reset and re-arm the alarm using the code given to you by the owner of the property - you may need to call our Alarm Receiving Centre for advice.
Remember to secure the property before you leave and telephone the owner to tell them about the alarm.
If the alarm system has been tampered with, it may not be possible to re-arm it, in these circumstances you may need to call our Service Bureau for an engineer to attend.
We aim to attend all engineer calls within 4 hours, although we consistently achieve quicker response times because we have the largest team of service engineers in the UK.
If you have a mobile phone, please give the number in addition to your normal contact telephone numbers. This will help us contact you more easily.
