Intruder Monitoring
Simply detecting intrusion is not enough. Help must be summoned without delay. A monitored alarm - connected to a 24 hour monitoring service is the answer. Traditional bell-only alarms may alert staff, but outside business hours they offer little protection. Police forces will not respond to a ringing bell unless there is evidence of an offence in progress.
Consequently insurers insist on monitored alarms. These provide 24 hour, 365 day monitoring by skilled operators in our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) confirming alarms with sequential, audio or visual verification, and ensures police, keyholders or service engineers can be alerted in seconds. Systems employ sequential Audio or Visual verification to minimise false alarms and avoids the risk of losing police response.
At ADT we pioneered 24 hour remote monitoring. Our Alarm Receiving Centres have the NACOSS Gold Approval for monitoring intruder alarms and use a range of alarms signalling technology , from digital communicators to redcare - which detects cute lines - and dual signalling systems with back-up communication paths.
If your organisation has multiple sites our Security Information Database program can provide a complete daily download of all your alarm system operations. We can even provide text messaging to alert you instantly when an alarm is activated.
DD243 - ACPO
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) requires compliance on intruder alarms known as DD243 . This recommends that high priority is only given to alarms which are confirmed.
Systems must conform to the relevant British Standards or European Standards and should include audio, visual or sequential confirmation technology.
