Spending less whilst staying safe

With public sector organisations targeted to reduce their costs over thenext 4 years, ADT recognises that public spending is under heavyscrutiny.
We have invested years in developing an understanding of the needs and priorities of public sector organisations and are well versed in finding innovative ways to reduce their costs and face the financial challenges ahead whilst helping them to remain safe and secure.
With facilities spread across a wide area and multiple sites, maintaining the highest levels of security under financial pressure is not an easy task; ADT has put together a set of recommendations to help public sector organisations achieve significant costs savings and efficiencies:

Consolidation Benefits
- Competitively priced services and solutions
- Lower management costs and reduced billing costs from multiple invoicing
- Improved visibility over the estate means underperformance issues can be addressed more quickly
Economies of scale and reduced management costs can be achieved by consolidating purchases through fewer suppliers. As a supplier of integrated fi re detection and prevention, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems we are able to provide the latest proven technologies to meet all your fire and security needs. As world class experts who can draw on the latest technology we create, install and maintain solutions that enable your estate to remain safe in a challenging economic climate. Centralisation of your fire and security systems Centralising disparate systems to a single safety and security control room can improve security, resilience and deliver cost savings:
- Removes the need for local administration
- Removes the need for local expertise in operation
- Frees up resources of local building managers to enable them to get on with their primary function
- Avoids duplication of roles and responsibilities
- Data is securely archived, and therefore not as vulnerable to loss or corruption
Systems Integration
The days of disparate safety and security technologies are drawing to a close. Enhanced levels of protection and costs efficiencies are two of the key drivers in the argument for integrated technologies. Reducing false fire alarms is also a key concern for many public sector organisations, the integration of fi re detection and video surveillance can provide instant visual verification of whether a fire is real or not, help identify potential culprits, enabling appropriate action to be taken whilst quickly confirming false alarms. The four main life safety and security systems (fire, CCTV, access control and intruder) should be intelligently integrated to provide a more comprehensive and cost effective solution where duplication of hardware, cables and peripherals can be avoided.
Our fully integrated fire and security systems replace stand-alone systems, working seamlessly together to increase the level of detection and protection, and the lower total cost of ownership provides an improved return on your investment.
Signalling
Having the right signalling strategy in place can add a considerable saving to the bottom line of your fire and security systems. For example, IPbased signalling systems can reduce communications costs. Having the right signalling strategy in place requires expert advice. In conjunction with our telecommunications partners, ADT is able to work within your budget to develop a solution exactly tailored to the needs of your organisation.
IP Technology
The move to IP based CCTV has been driven by 2 main factors, one being the cost reductions in system installation and the development of High Defi nition (HD) CCTV cameras which can further reduce costs (both upfront and ongoing) and provide better image quality for improved post-event analysis.
For larger or more complex systems, and particularly where multiple remote sites need to be connected to one control centre, the business case for IP becomes very compelling; particularly as such systems are often expanded and re-configured over time.
Improve Processes
Our online Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management system allows public sector organisations to have visibility over the whole of their estate, making it easy and quick to identify and address underperformance issues such as faulty fi re and security equipment
or delays in fixing equipment. This allows early identification of where money is being wasted and implementation of corrective action.
