Situation
Recent business expansion created the need to refurbish their whole site in Epsom, Surrey and gain extra secure parking for new buses and coaches. The Epsom Coaches Group selected ADT exclusively to help secure their business with fire and security solutions. The new state of the art facility opened its doors in March 2010 and provides every comfort and protection for both it’s on and off duty staff of 245 employees.
Solution
The refurbishment project required a range of fire, intruder and surveillance products and services that would be able to be integrated for maximum security. Barriers and fencing were fitted around the site perimeter to ensure controlled access to parked coaches/cars that are monitored by CCTV. The access control system and barriers were linked to Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) with CCTV to enable only authorised personnel and visitors access to and from the site.
The main office building uses CCTV and an access control system as well as featuring fire and intruder solutions. The scale of the project drove the need for a tailored solution, account managed by a single point of contact, to ensure a high level of service and ensuring consistency in understanding of the site and its specific requirements.
Results
ADT’s Stuart Edbrook and Mark Smith worked together to build a solid relationship with Epsom Coaches Group Commercial Director, Steve Whiteway. This close working relationship was maintained throughout the project and this, along with ADT’s proven high service levels and ability to provide integrated solutions, created a perfect fit in meeting Steve’s security requirements. Steve Whiteway commented, “When we decided to redevelop our site, I wanted to improve security and ensure we had rapid support and back up in the event of problems. Having used smaller companies in the past with varying levels of service, it was evident to me that only one company could deliver what I wanted, that company was ADT".
They have provided a turn key solution for fire cover, CCTV, access control and even security fencing, all backed up with a 4 hour response service 24x7. We had previously worked with ADT for our fire detection requirements, so I knew they could deliver on service, it was therefore a logical step to extend that across our full range of security requirements”.
