Once you’ve placed your order, you can leave the rest to us. Our installation planners will send you a text message, confirming the time and date of your appointment.
If you need to amend this, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

After your booking has been confirmed, we’ll deliver your ADT security products at your chosen address a couple of days before your installation date. We’ll leave this in a safe and secure place - no signature will be required. Alternatively, our engineers can bring it with them on installation day.

Installation day

When the day comes for your new ADT security system to be installed, don’t worry about the details - our knowledgeable engineers will walk you through the process and provide you with all the information you need. Simply make sure the main account holder is present and provide access for your engineer, and we’ll take care of everything else. 

Installation, setup and the official handover typically takes a few hours, depending on the size of your property and the number of devices involved.

Here’s what you can expect when your installation date arrives: 

  • 1.

    Your friendly installation engineer will text you ahead of their arrival.

  • 2.

    Your chosen security equipment will be fitted into your home, including any necessary wall fixings.

  • 3.

    Cabling and wires for mounted equipment will be encased in trunking for a neat finish.

  • 4.

    Once your system is fully installed, your engineer will complete its configuration.

  • 5.

    Your engineer will show you how to use your ADT system step by step.

Preparing for ADT Smart Home

To make sure an installation of the ADT Smart Home package goes smoothly, we ask that you have a few things prepared so our engineers can get to work.

Learn more about ADT Smart Home

  • A broadband internet connection and an available Ethernet port on your router

  • Access to the email account provided by the primary account holder

  • Access to a computer, smartphone or tablet to create your ADT Smart Services account

  • ADT Smart Services pre-downloaded on your Apple and Android devices (don’t try to log in yet, just keep it handy for your installation date)

  • If you’ve chosen a Video Service Package, you’ll need your Wi-Fi password to hand for IP camera installation

Health and Safety

At ADT, we consider health and safety a top priority. We operate a Zero Harm policy, to ensure both our customers and engineers are never placed in harm’s way. 

As part of our Zero Harm policy, we kindly ask our customers:

  • To make sure the property is safe to enter

  • To move large pieces of furniture prior to our engineer’s arrival - our engineers are not responsible for this

  • If building work is taking place at your property, please let us know in advance in case we need to rearrange our visit

  • To be aware that our dummy boxes and outdoor cameras cannot be installed above a flat roof, on cladding or at a height above 3 metres

COVID-19 precautions

Throughout the coronavirus outbreak, many have been motivated to improve their home security as they spend more time inside. However, COVID-19 does mean we must adapt our installation process to keep both our customers and engineers safe. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Our engineers can’t enter your home or site if anyone there is: at-risk, self-isolating, or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms 

  • If anyone in your household is showing COVID-19 symptoms - either on or before installation day - please cancel and rearrange your appointment 

  • All our engineers are supplied with, and required to wear, adequate PPE

  • Customers and engineers should remain 2 metres apart at all times
